8/29/08 Made some last minute changes to the cue sheets making leaving and returning to Grove City control simpler on first two loops. Sorry for the late corrections.

8/16/08 Great turnout for today's RUSA Anniversary 200k. I hope everyone had a good time. Congratulations to all. Results have been submitted and will be processed by RUSA soon. Once posted you my submit your request for the 10th Anniversary Medal on-line at the RUSA Site. Requests for medals must be made by September 14th in order for RUSA to know how many. You can expect them to arrive by the end of October.

8/4/08 The 1000k brevet cue sheet has been posted to the website. Registration deadline is Wednesday Aug 27.
8/4/08 The RUSA Anniversary 200k brevet cue sheet and map have been posted on the Cue Sheets and maps page. This event will run on August 16th at 7:00am from the Alum Creek Below Dam Recreation area and will visit several area lakes on a route to Larue via Marion.
This is a totally new route designed specifically for this event. It is very flat by randonneuring standards - less than 2500 feet of climbing over a 207km route with virtually no big climbs. Sorry if that disappoints the die hard mountain goats. So encourage your riding buddies to come out and try out the longer distance and celebrate RUSA's 10th anniversary with us. It will be a great opportunity for newbees to get a taste of randonneuring. Lights and reflective gear are not required since the event starts and finishes during daylight hours. 10th Anniversary medals are available to RUSA members and may be ordered post-ride directly from the RUSA online store within 30 days of the ride. 10th Anniversary medals are priced at $6.00 each.
This is a no-charge event, but pre-registration is required since this is a formal brevet requiring control cards. Registration is due by Wednesday, August 13th. See forms at Registration page.
8/4/08 It’s come to my attention that the 8/16 brevet conflicts with a local fund-raiser, Pedal with Pete Columbus Bike Ride, which raises funds for research to improve the quality of life for persons with cerebral palsy. There is no fee for our brevet, so in lieu of that, consider making a voluntary contribution to Pedal with Pete. I will collect any donations at the ride start or with your registration and send them directly to the organization. You may also send your donation directly to Pedal with Pete. Details can be found at http://www.pedalwithpete.com/donate.htm.
8/4/08 The 6/21-22/2008 600k results have been posted. Sorry for the delay. Congratulations again to all that finished this difficult event. It was challenging, even for the veteran randos. We had a 50% finish rate with 6 of 12 riders overcoming hills, rain, lightning, wind, mud and construction obstacles.
7/1/08 New RUSA Anniversary 200k brevet has been scheduled for August 16th at Alum Creek Dam, Lewis Center, OH. We're working on a new route that visits several of the area lakes. No charge for this one. See details in the Events and Event Details Page. Cue sheet will be available in early August.
7/1/08 Congratulations to all that completed the Ohio 600k brevet. It was a tough route with two nasty obstacles and thunder storms to add to the challenge.
Staying in touch with Ohio Randonneurs!
Maintaining a mass mailing list has become a difficult task for a large number of riders. Laws require that I offer a double opt-out feature for subscribers. In order to meet this regulation and keep my name off of the SPAM blacklists I have set up a Google Group discussion tool for posting messages. Effective immediately, I will not be sending direct e-mail to a mailing list. All communications will be via the website and Google Groups. The group name is Ohio Randos. You can preview it by going to http://groups.google.com/group/ohiorandos?lnk=gschg&hl=en . The group is intended to let all subscribers share information and experiences. You can subscribe from the form on the Contact Info page. There is also a national discussion group called Randon located at http://groups.google.com/group/randon?lnk=srg&hl=en. You can select to receive individual e-mails, a daily digest e-mail, daily abridged e-mail or no email if you prefer to manually look for messages.
